Your Journey
At Cooke Therapy, I specialize in providing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness skill-building, and Inner Child Work to help clients achieve meaningful and lasting change. My approach is rooted in the belief that cultivating awareness of our thoughts and feelings is key to overcoming challenges and achieving personal goals. By developing mindfulness, I guide clients in identifying and changing patterns of thinking and behavior that may no longer serve them, building trust in themselves and others, and crafting a personal constitution that aligns with their values and vision for a brighter future.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focuses on understanding the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. By identifying negative thought patterns and challenging unhelpful beliefs, clients can replace these with more constructive alternatives, leading to improved emotional regulation and problem-solving skills. CBT is highly effective for addressing anxiety, depression, stress, and relationship issues, and its structured, goal-oriented approach is adaptable to individuals, couples, families, and groups.
Mindfulness skill-building complements CBT by helping clients develop present-moment awareness and non-judgmental acceptance of their thoughts and emotions. Through mindfulness practices, clients learn to manage stress, reduce emotional reactivity, and foster resilience. These skills not only create a sense of calm but also enhance focus, self-compassion, and overall well-being.
In addition to CBT and mindfulness, I incorporate Inner Child Work, a therapeutic modality that addresses unresolved emotional wounds from childhood. Many challenges we face as adults, such as feelings of anxiety, abandonment, or low self-worth, stem from unmet needs or adverse experiences in early life. By reconnecting with and nurturing the inner child, clients can heal these wounds, foster self-compassion, and break free from patterns that no longer serve them. Using evidence-supported practices, I help clients explore their past, identify limiting beliefs, and create healthier emotional frameworks.
